Lemon Laws For Used Cars Are Just Around The Corner Oct 27

By Charles Essmeier

In 1982, California became the first state to pass an automobile “lemon law” which gave owners of defective cars the opportunity to seek a replacement or a refund for a new car that had a defect that could not be repaired in a reasonable amount of time. This law proved so popular that other states soon followed suit. Less than twenty five years later, all fifty states have some sort of lemon law on their books. California may take the lead again in the protection of auto buyers as the state Assembly recently passed a “bill of rights” designed to protect buyers of used cars.

This bill, which has not been signed into law, would protect buyers of used cars from deceptive lending practices, sales of lemon-law buyback vehicles, and vehicles with frame damage. Buyers would also be allowed three days in which to cancel the deal if they changed their mind after the purchase.

This bill may or may not become law, but it outlines the need for laws that cover sales of used cars as well as new ones. While all states have a lemon law that covers the sale of defective new vehicles, few states have laws that protect buyers of used vehicles. As a result, many buyers have become victims of deceptive practices such as rolling back a vehicle’s odometer to show fewer miles, reselling cars that have previously been bought back by manufacturers as lemons and selling wrecked cars that have been repaired without noting their accident history. In addition, many used car dealers sell cars using deceptive financing terms that can add hundreds or thousands of dollars to the cost of the vehicle, often without the buyer’s knowledge.

If this bill does become law in California, expect other states to follow, just as they did with lemon laws. Consumer protection benefits everyone, and laws protecting buyers of used cars are just around the corner.

I Pad Application Development And Android Application Development The Challenges Part 2 Jun 08

In previous part of this article I have discussed about iPad Application Development and its pro and cons and left with telling you that I will provide more information on Android Application Development in next part of it. So, here I am going to share most of the info on Android Application Development and what we have faced so far and also what it is compare to iPad Application Development. I hope this will help you to understand both the fields and what you will need if you really want to get involved in the development side of this.

If you know java you can surely jump off in Android Application Development and think to start right away, but this isn’t that easy as what you might feel when you are not in it. When you start you will know that what looks from outside, the rabbit hole is quit deeper then you think. You might have an impression that Google might have done pretty good job with creating a development environment and might be thinking that just like iPad Application Development, it’s going to be easy ride. Well it’s not. Setting up android is also one of the things you need to learn, and so as setting up the emulator and starting it.

When you will start first thing you will notice it’s slow. Yes, it’s damn slow. I have my self tried from Core i7 to Nvidia GeForce 450S and up to 8 GB RAM, but it really does not make any difference. And please do not start Honeycomb emulator; else you will have a night mere of just sitting there for another 5 minutes and looking at it trying to start. But I agree, everything has its goods and bad, Android Application Development in my opinion is bit easy to learn then iPad Application Development and become more convenient as the time passes by. But common, it’s of Google, give some speed guys. Don’t expect slow things from you. I suggest you to have Core i7 and good amount of RAM, about 6 gigs and also any entry level graphic card won’t do any harm. For iPad Application Development as all of you might know, you will need iMAC or initially MAC mini will do the thing, but that won’t last too long, as Apple’s OS is quite heavy and tends to suppress hardware when gets updated.

I hope this article has provided you enough information on both the fields and will be helpful to get into any of them. Happy coding!!!
